Developers limited by gas costs and the EVM can use RISC Zero’s ZK Coprocessor to scale their applications. The ZK Coprocessor connects Ethereum smart contracts to RISC Zero’s zkVM and Bonsai, moving gas-intensive computations off-chain and generating a zero-knowledge proof of its execution to bring on-chain, which can be verified for a fraction of the original gas cost.

RISC Zero can bolster the security of optimistic rollups by upgrading fault proofs with cryptographic ZK proofs, called fraud proofs. ZK fraud proofs are easy to develop, modular, and upgradable thanks to their zkVM foundations and non-interactive nature.
